New study claims a glass of wine a day has no health benefits ?

Im sure by now you have heard that drinking a glass of red wine a day has shown to be beneficial to your health. Past studies have claimed that drinking wine, in moderation of course, could significantly lower your risk of cardiovascular disease, cancer and decrease inflammation.

Now, however, a new study has been released claiming that are no such health benefits involved with resveratrol or drinking a glass of red wine.

The compound resveratrol, found in red wine, was attributed with the reason drinking a glass of red wine had all of these health benefits. Overall, resveratrol was thought to increase your longevity.

In the new study, there were no differences in cancer, cardiovascular health, inflammation or death rate with those who ingested resverartrol. "Just over one-third of the participants died during the next nine years. About five percent were diagnosed with cancer and 27 percent of those that didn’t initially have heart disease developed it during the study."

I personally found some flaws with the study. The resveratrol levels in the individuals were only measured once in three years. The participants diets were monitored through surveys. This right there is a major red flag for me. How truly honest are people when filling out a survey behind closed doors? Even worse, the study also said based on theses surveys they assumed that the resveratrol levels stayed the same after then initial reading because the participants diets did not drastically change.

What do you think? Will this have any impact on your wine intake?
